Hello Owl Families,
What a great first week! Thank you for showing your child how important school is. Last week the most absences we had was 12 students…that is a record! Keep showing up and be on time!
This Thursday is Back to School Night. BTSN is from 5:30 - 6:30. Teachers will present the same information twice. Once at 5:30 and then again at 6:00. Before we will have a BTSN Bash from 4:30 - 5:15. Our PTA will have food for sale. This is a great opportunity to get to know other families. You can support and join our PTA by attending the Bash! Back to School Night is for parents. We ask that you try and make arrangements for your children to stay home. We do not have supervision for children. If you do bring them please keep them with you.
Bringing food to school is allowed but we do ask that students not share with one another. Some families choose the foods they want them to eat and your child might offer something they are allergic to or do not want them eating. Snacks for recess should be small and just enough to hold them until lunch. Snacks and food should be opened by the student and not require help from staff. There is not much time to open 100 juice pouches. And if they bring chips please only send single serving bags. Family size or large sizes will be held in the office until the end of the day. Thank you for your understanding.
This week Mrs. Pitard will meet with students to review the behavior expectations for Orange Glen. Two of our biggest concerns are slurs and getting physical with each other. Racial or sexual slurs are not tolerated. These words are not allowed at school even if you allow them at home. Students will be sent to the principal immediately. Students also must keep their hands and feet to themselves. If there are problems talk it out or get the help from a staff member. Please discuss these issues with your child and please call if you have any questions.
Please note that Monday, September 1, 2025, school will be closed in observance of Labor Day. All students who come to school on Friday, August 29 will be invited to a water party on Tuesday, September 2.
PE begins this week. Please make sure we have the proper clothing and water. Mr. Jones is very diligent about monitoring the weather and will not overexert the students on hot days. And please remember no CROCS. Thank you.
Well, that is all for now. We hope you have a great start to the school year! Go Owls!
