Charlottes Web

Charlottes Web

Synopsis: The novel tells the story of a livestock pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. When Wilbur is in danger of being slaughtered by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages praising Wilbur (such as "Some Pig") in her web in order to persuade the farmer to let him live.

My Review: I really enjoyed reading this classic novel. The friendship between Wilbur and Charlotte is really special and I loved learning all about their life on the farm. My favorite character in the book is Charlotte the spider because she is loyal, kind, and thoughtful. This is a great summer read!

James and the Giant Peach

James and the Giant Peach

Synopsis: The plot centers on a young English boy who is an orphan. He enters a gigantic, magical peach, and has a wild and surreal cross-world adventure with seven magically-altered garden bugs he meets.

My Review: This is one of my favorite books of all time! In this story James goes on a magical adventure with his new friends. Each bug has their own unique characteristics that make them special. James shows that it is never too late to make new friends and teaches us to never give up. Also when you're done reading the book check out the movie!

A Series of Unfortunate Events

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Synopsis: A Series of Unfortunate Events is a series of thirteen novels written by American author Daniel Handler under the pen name Lemony Snicket. The books follow the turbulent lives of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire.

My Review: If you like all things dark and mysterious then this book is for you! I love this series because of its dark humor, sarcastic storytelling, and suspense. In the first book of this series we are introduced to the main characters and taken along on a journey with many unexpected twists and turns. Also a great spooky Halloween read!
