Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mrs. Elias and today is day the twelfth day of school, Friday, September 9th, 2016.  The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of about 84 degrees.

Today is...

Teddy Bear Day - Teddy Bear Day, a day to bring out all your teddy bears and thank them for their company, the fun times you have had with them, and for all the days and nights they comforted you.   So hug a bear today...awww.

On This Day in History

On this day in history in 1776, the Continental Congress formally declares the name of the new nation to be the “United States” of America. This replaced the term “United Colonies,” which had been in general use.

Here's Your Science Fact for Today

Did you know that there are 206 bones in the adult human body and there are 300 bones in children? Where did those bones go? Well, as we grow some of our bones fuse together.

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

Today is Friday and today we talk about staying safe in the restroom. Remember to respect other's privacy, walk calmly and quietly into and out of bathrooms, keep water in the sink, put trash in trash can, use the toilets the right way - do not stand on them, if there is a problem report it to an adult, and remember to always wash your hands.
Walt Disney, the founder and the man who dreamed of the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland, said, "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." So if you want to be a dream engineer, get started!

Now, please stand as I lead you in the pledge...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Please remember to come to school everyday and on time; and maybe you can win one of the great prizes in our attendance raffle!  Also, the 5th Grade Recycling Crew will be collecting plastic water bottles with caps removed from teacher's bins outside their classrooms between 8:40 - 9:00.

Remember, Safety First!
  • On your way to and from school remember to use all crosswalks, obey all traffic signals, and watch out for one another.
  • Please remember to walk when traveling through campus.
  • Also, remember to use quiet voices in all academic areas.
  • Play safe on the playground and when the bell rings to line up, you freeze, wait for a teacher to blow his or her whistle, and walk to your line safely. We do not want anyone running as you could get hurt.
  • When you arrive at school in the morning, you are to sit at the lunch tables. All students are to remain sitting at the lunch tables until a teacher says that you may get up to line up.
  • Please remember to pick up after yourself after you eat breakfast, snack, and lunch.  Mr. Larios does not want to pick up after all of you!
  • At the end of the day, please leave the campus quickly and either walk home or wait in front of the office for you parents.  If your ride is not there, please wait at the front of the school patiently and quietly for your ride.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember, to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
