Pretzel Day - A day to celebrate the doughy, salty snack called Pretzel.

On this day in 1954, the Salk polio vaccine field trials, involving 1.8 million children, begin at the Franklin Sherman Elementary School in McLean, Virginia. On April 12, 1955, researchers announced the vaccine was safe and effective and it quickly became a standard part of childhood immunizations in America.

And...Boys and girls, please make sure that while you are in the office or library you are quiet and respectful of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who will be taking important state exams for the next 6 weeks.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want our plants to grow!

Remember that owning our school means that we work hard to try to make sure that our school is clean, so that we can take pride in where we learn. To keep our campus clean, we can help by picking up trash, we can keep ourselves organized, and we can help our teachers to keep our classrooms clean.
