Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mr. Herman and today is the 156th day of school, Wednesday, May 17th, 2017.  The forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of about 65 degrees.

Today is...

Pack Rat Day - This holiday encourages people to do some late spring-cleaning and to make space for newer, more useful things in their lives.

On This Day in History:

in 1929, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hands out its first awards, at a dinner party for around 250 people held in the Blossom Room of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California.

Here's Your Science Fact for Today:

The average time it takes for plastic to decompose is 450 years. Glass takes 4,000 years!

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

As we continue to talk about respecting others, we need to make sure that we do this in the hallways, at assemblies, in our communities, and at home. For example, if we are walking in the hallways, we need to make sure that we are quiet and thoughtful of the classes in session. Again, when we are respectful of others and think about others, we feel good about ourselves and when we feel good about ourselves, we work harder and do better in school.

Kevin Hart, an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer, said, "Laughter heals all wounds, and that's one thing that everybody shares. No matter what you're going through, it makes you forget about your problems. I think the world should keep laughing."

And today, we have Alexa Gallegos Mrs. Perkin's class to lead you in the pledge.  Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Please make sure that while you are in the office or library you are quiet and respectful of students taking MAP tests and SBAC exams.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want all of our plants to grow!

Finally, remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, on your way to and from school.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
