Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mr. Herman and today is the 132nd day of school, Wednesday, March 29th, 2017.  The forecast calls for sunny sunny skies with a high of about 82 degrees.

Today is...

Smoke and Mirrors Day. Also sometimes known as Festival of Smoke and Mirrors Day, this unofficial holiday is celebrated annually on March 29

On This Day in History:

U.S. withdraws from Vietnam - Two months after the signing of the Vietnam peace agreement, the last U.S. combat troops leave South Vietnam as Hanoi frees the remaining American prisoners of war held in North Vietnam.

Here's Your Science Fact for Today:

Sharks have outstanding hearing. They can hear a fish thrashing in the water from as far as 500 metres away!

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

As we continue to talk about respect, we must also talk about our communities. As a member of your community it is important to keep your community clean, to pick up trash, and to respect everyone's property. Again, when we are respectful in our communities, we show pride in where we live, and this makes us feel good about where we live.

The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhism, said, "When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others."

And today, we have Edwin Barrera from Mrs. Amador's class to lead you in the pledge.  Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Anyone up for a movie?  Well, Friday night the PTA will have Family Movie Night from 7 - 9 on the grass and we will be showing Moana, so make sure to tell your parents and come enjoy a movie with your family and friends this Friday night.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want our plants to grow!

And...remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, and on your way to and from school.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
