This week for the Season for Non Violence we will be focusing on appreciation. Appreciation means to admire or be grateful for something. There are many different types of appreciation. Peace begins with us, so today we focus on appreciating ourselves. Every one of us is special in our own way and has something different to contribute to making our world a better place.

Daily Challenge: Write down 5 things that you appreciate about yourself. Share with someone what you have written. Read it every day to remind yourself of all the things you like about YOU

Louise Hay, an American motivational author and the founder of The Hay House, said, " Praise yourself as much as you can....the love in our lives begins with us....loving yourself will help heal this planet.”
Pledge:

And today we have Marco Lopez from Mr. Smith's class to lead you in the pledge. Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Please remember that when you are in the hallways, in the office, or in the library, you are quiet and respectful of those students who are doing their best and working hard on the MAP Tests.

Also, those of you who are taking the MAP tests, remember that you need to slow down, read the questions thoroughly, and try your very best so that you can reach your goals. Remember that when you do well you feel good about yourself, so always SOAR when taking your tests.

Finally, remember that when traveling through campus you should stay off of landscaped areas, the grass, and planters; and walk on the paths so that our grass and plants can grow.

Thank you very much for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
