At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

Last week we reviewed staying safe at school. Are you staying safe in these last few weeks of school? I hope so. This week we will concentrate on owning our school and acting responsibly, two very important things to do as we get closer to the final day of school. What do you think owning our school and acting responsible means? Well, I think it means to make sure that we are taking care of equipment that we use, the books that are lent to us, and that we are careful to pick up after ourselves, and f we do these things it shows that we have pride in where we go to school, and when you have pride in where you go to school many times you do better in school. What do you think?

Malcolm X, an African-American Muslim minister and human rights activist, said, "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today."

And today we have Esperanza Flores from Mrs.Azlin's class to lead you in the pledge. Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Remember that when traveling through campus you are to stay on all paved areas and off of our grass and landscaped areas because we want all of our plants to grow.

Also remember to be respectful to all students by being quiet while in the office and library; and always remember to stay safe, own our school, act responsibly, and respect everyone where ever you go!

And finally, On Saturday of this past weekend, The Farr STEAM team participated in the San Diego County Science and Field Day.  They competed against 61 other teams from across the  San Diego County area.  Our team placed in 9 of the 15 events in the areas of catapults, Earth, circuits, paddle boats, stars, structures, triathlon, simple machines, and rocks.  Way to go Falcons and a big thank you to Mrs. Wood for all of the coaching you did to make sure our Falcons rocked!

Thank you very much for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
