Remember that it is very important that when you are in the hallways, in the office, or in the library that you are quiet and respectful of those students who are doing their best and working hard on the MAP Tests.

Also, those of you who are taking the MAP tests, remember that you need to slow down, read the questions thoroughly, and try your very best so that you can reach the goals set by you and your teachers. Remember that when you do well you feel good about yourself, so always SOAR when taking your tests and do your best.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the civil rights movement and for whom we just had our holiday, said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

And today we have Rueben Solis from Mrs. Gonzalez's class to lead you in the pledge. Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
