Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mr. Herman and today is the 155th day of school, Monday, May 16th, 2017.  The forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of about 63 degrees.

Today is...

NATIONAL BIOGRAPHER’S DAY - National Biographer’s Day commemorates the anniversary of the first meeting of Samuel Johnson and his biographer James Boswell in London, England on May 16, 1763, and honors all biographers.

On This Day in History:

This week we will review respecting others and as we review, we need to remember that we do respect others while in our classrooms, while using the restrooms, and at recess; and if we are respectful of others in these areas, there will be fewer problems and we will feel better about being at school.

John Wooden, an American basketball player and head coach at the University of California at Los Angeles. Nicknamed the "Wizard of Westwood, said, "It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen."

And today, we have Rossman Ortega Mrs. Perkin's class to lead you in the pledge.  Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

A big shout out to Farr's STEAM Team who competed, for the first time ever, in the San Diego County Science Field Day competition in Lakeside this weekend.  Our 5th graders went up against 6th graders, 65 schools, schools with multiple teams, schools with individual coaches for each of the 15 events, AND OUR FARR FALCONS SOARED! Farr's STEAM Team placed in 6 of the 15 events! A big thank you to Mrs. Wood, who worked hard to make sure that each student was ready to do well in their perspective event; and great job to all of our competitors!

Please make sure that while you are in the office or library you are quiet and respectful of students taking MAP tests and SBAC exams.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want our plants to grow!

Finally, remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, on your way to and from school.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
