Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mr. Herman and today is the 170th day of school, Tuesday, June 6th, 2017. The forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of about 75 degrees.

Today is...

Drive-In Movie Day - Get the popcorn and soda, pop, or water and drive over to your closest drive-in theater to watch a movie on June 6, because it is Drive-in Movie Day!

On This Day in History:

D-Day - Although the term D-Day is used routinely as military lingo for the day an operation or event will take place, for many it is also synonymous with June 6, 1944, the day the Allied powers crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, beginning the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control during World War II.

Here's Your Science Fact for Today:

Can you feel the pulse in your wrist? For humans the normal pulse is 70 heartbeats per minute. Elephants have a slower pulse of 27 and for a canary it is 1000!

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

What does owning our school mean? Well, to name a few examples, it means to make sure that we take care of the equipment that we use, the books that are lent to us, and that we are careful to pick up after ourselves; and if we do these things it shows that we are proud of Farr School, and when we are proud about Farr School, we feel good about being Falcons! What do you think?

Marcus Aurelius, Emperor of Rome from 161 to 180 A.D., wrote, "Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking."

And today, we have Anabel Aguirre from Mrs. Moreno-Hall's class to lead you in the pledge.  Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Remember that today is the STEAM Fair where you can see innovative and  fun projects by students just like you and we hope to see you there!

And please make sure that while you are in the office or library you are quiet and respectful of students taking MAP tests and SBAC exams.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want all of our plants to grow!

Finally, remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, on your way to and from school.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
