Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mr. Herman and today is the 167th day of school, Thursday, June 1st, 2017. The forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of about 77 degrees.

Today is...

Say Something Nice Day - be kind to everyone you meet and say something nice to them because it is Say Something Nice Day. The day aims to encourage people to spread cheer and goodwill by opening up channels of communication and by focusing on the good in everyone.

On This Day in History:

Benedict Arnold is court-martialed - The court-martial of Benedict Arnold convenes in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After a relatively clean record in the early days of the American Revolution, Arnold was charged with 13 counts of misbehavior, including misusing government wagons and illegally buying and selling goods.

Here's Your Science Fact for Today:

The human body contains blood that helps give our body oxygen, protection and more. Blood is complex. Scientists have not discovered how to make new blood. Blood must be donated from a living donor.

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

Remember I said I would share my example about how to stay safe in our communities; and here is my example: it is very important that we always make sure that our parents know where we are and that we are always with someone when playing outside. Do you do that? I hope so. Was that something you talked about with your teachers? If not, don't forget to stay safe in your community.
Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate, said, "Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world."

And today, we have Evan Dutton from Mrs. Baehr's class to lead you in the pledge.  Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Special Announcements

Remember to please make sure that while you are in the office or library you are quiet and respectful of students taking MAP tests and SBAC exams.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want all of our plants to grow!

Finally, remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, on your way to and from school.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
