Good Morning Farr Falcons!

This is Mr. Herman and today is the 160th day of school, Monday, May 22nd, 2017. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of about 85 degrees.

Today is...

Buy a Musical Instrument Day - take the first step towards fulfilling your dreams and go and buy yourself a musical instrument because it is Buy a Musical Instrument Day.

On This Day in History:

in 1843 A massive wagon train, made up of 1,000 settlers and 1,000 head of cattle, sets off down the Oregon Trail from Independence, Missouri. Known as the “Great Emigration,” the expedition came two years after the first modest party of settlers made the long, overland journey to Oregon.

Here's Your Science Fact for Today:

The population of the world is over seven billion right now and is estimated to reach eight billion by 2025.

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

This year, you learned about what it means to be a good Falcon and for the next few weeks we will review S.O.A.R. and what it means to Stay Safe at School, Own Our School, Act Responsibly, And Respect Everyone. And remember SOAR is what Falcons do, so make sure to SOAR today.

Langston Hughes, an American poet, social activist, and novelist, wrote, "Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly."

And today, we have _________________ from Mr. Hernandez's class to lead you in the pledge.  Now, please stand...Put your right hand over your heart, ready begin...

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want all of our plants to grow!

Finally, remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, on your way to and from school.
Thank you for your attention to this morning's message, S.O.A.R. today, and remember to come to school every day and on time because when you miss school you miss out.
