June 12 is Red Rose Day. It is an annual celebration of the universal symbol of love and romance - the humble, but beautiful red rose.

On This Day in History:

In 1987 Reagan challenges Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall - In one of his most famous Cold War speeches, President Ronald Reagan challenges Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. Two years later, deliriously happy East and West Germans did break down the infamous barrier between East and West Berlin.

At Farr Avenue School, Falcon's S.O.A.R...

This is our last full week of school and I wanted to remind you that we are reviewing what it means to be a Farr Falcon. What is it that good Falcons do? That's right, we SOAR, and last week we reviewed owning our school and acting responsibly, so that leaves...respecting everyone. Today, think about what respect is and share what you think it is with your classmates and teachers.

Michael Jordan, an American retired basketball player and regarded as one of the best ever, said, "Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."

Remember to please make sure that while you are in the office or library you are quiet and respectful of students taking MAP tests and SBAC exams.

Also remember to please stay out of planted and landscaped areas around school because we want all of our plants to grow!

Finally, remember to always stay safe on the playground, around our school, on your way to and from school.
